Fewer Emergencies

by Martin Crimp

2006 | Red Stitch, Melbourne AU
AUSTRALIAN PREMIERE

Three short ‘plays’ - Whole Blue Sky, Face to the Wall and Fewer Emergencies. The first depicts a loveless marriage, the second tells the story of a school shooting and the third piece unmasks an emergency that is occurring “right now”. Crimp’s surreal and cruel script intertwines ideas and shocking truths about life, death, relationships, abuse and emergencies.

‘Alyson Campbell’s fine direction ensures maximum impact for this intriguing, disturbing play’

- Helen Thomson, The Age

This should not be missed - four actors working with great skill and focus on a script which forces reflection on how we think and talk about contentment and disturbances to it.
